Minivan transportation service delivers far more than just the client

Shuttle offers different, heartfelt approach to non-emergency transport

bensonklumpthumbBenson Klumpenhower is the co-owner of Genesis Medi Shuttle, a non-emergency, stable patient transportation, stretcher-based service or as Klumpenhower likes to call it a “pillow to pillow” service. While this description may seem a little wordy, the service is plain and simple.

The business runs a flexible 24/7 schedule that drives people who are unable to take accessible forms of transportation such as taxis or handicapped buses. All transported clients must be stable as the drivers do not provide medical monitoring. However, all employees are emergency medical responders (EMRs) and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and are registered by Alberta College of Paramedics in the case a problem does arise.

The company uses minivans for the comfort of the customer versus an ambulance. The flat rate is $165 for a one way trip within city limits. Pricing for any trips outside city limits depends on the mileage. The service is covered by palliative homecare and some private insurance companies.

Genesis Medi Shuttle’s goal coincides with their motto which is to “safely bring people together,” and with this goal in mind the company has garnered a large customer base showing that hospitable and comforting service will always be well received.
